Our lunch ladies play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to students. Their dedication and hard work ensure that students have access to healthy food options. They work hard to create balanced meals that provide essential nutrients for growing minds and bodies. They greet each student with great gratitude and enthusiasm.
School lunch also plays a crucial role in promoting student health and well-being. Balanced meals provided through school lunch offer essential nutrients that are vital for students’ growth and development. By having a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, these meals provide the fuel needed to support students’ academic performance. Proper nutrition has been shown to improve concentration, memory, and overall cognitive function, helping students stay focused and perform their best in the classroom. Unfortunately, lunch ladies do face certain challenges in their work. There is a lot of time and effort that goes into preparing each meal. Lunch ladies must be knowledgeable about these restrictions and take necessary precautions to avoid cross-contamination or serving prohibited foods.

Many students here at Captain Shreve appreciate the lunch ladies and their impact on The Swamp.
“I enjoy the school lunches provided by the lunch ladies. I appreciate the time and effort they put towards making the lunch meals for us,” stated Kaleb Skannal.
The lunch ladies also make the environment comfortable for students.
“Every time I enter the cafeteria it’s a comforting environment,” said Taylor Stewart.
“My energy level always changes positively after I leave the cafeteria,” stated Cadence Collins.
“The lunch ladies always have a positive attitude when they greet us,” stated Zarreah Hill.
