It is that time of year again where schedules change, brains are being filled with previous knowledge, and pencils are leaving a trail of smoke behind them with how quickly they are writing? Yes, it is once again time for the first semester midterms at Captain Shreve. How is everyone preparing? What methods are they using to help them study? What tests are they worried about? What do they feel they can improve on for next semester?
How are you preparing?
Midterms can be quite stressful with all of the information crammed into a week and the thought of taking multiple tests for different subjects on the same day. Making sure that you have a well organized plan can guarantee smooth sailing for your midterms.
“I’m preparing for midterms by trying to stay organized and be ahead with my studying,” junior student Nevaeh Baker said.
What methods are being used?
Everyone has their own tricks, ways, and methods that they use to help them with something, and that does not have to be just focused around testing. It can apply to a championship game, going in for a job interview, or even something as simple as how to get in and out of the grocery store faster. Going back to midterm testing, every student has different ways to help them secure the grade that they are striving for, whether they get it or not.
“Using flashcards and studying certain things in advance so I don’t have so much to study in one day,” Baker also said.
How can you improve?
Even when something might be at its best, it can always go higher than what it did before. That same thing applies to grades, testing, and the overall performance of students in school. Even with all A’s there is still room to grow, and it might not be in the area of grades, but maybe becoming more social at school is something a student can work on.
“Next semester, I can improve on not doing things last minute,” junior student Natalia Hernandez said.
