Captain Shreve’s Key Club is one of the many service groups that lend a helping hand to our community. The most recent community service project Key Club has participated in was Sunday, January 18th. Our students worked at Acrosports helping a local gymnastics competition for younger kids.

Key Club is an organization that asks students branch out and grow in the community around them. “Unlock the possibilities” is the motto of Key Club, meaning to explore and take new opportunities in the community.

“I like knowing students are out there helping in some small way,” said Laura Holley, the Key Club sponsor.

Mrs. Holley plans to build up the number of students in Key Club and have many more service projects throughout the community in the future.

The president of Key Club is sophomore Ella Hendrick. She has been in Key Club since her freshman year and enjoys helping the community in every way she can.

“I would add more service opportunities because I feel like it would be a good way to bond as a club and to get more involved in our community,” she stated.

Sawyer Penwell is the vice president of Key Club. He stated, “ I enjoy working in the community and with other people in the community. Everyone has their own story and it’s awesome to hear what people have to say about us and about Key Club and our school.”

Key Club allows many students to stay active in many different ways.

“I joined Key Club to help out my community,” said sophomore Paisley Actlis. who has participated in over ten service projects so far this school year.

Key Club plans to continue working in the community to unlock the possibilities.
