Student Council hosts their annual Christmas Party.

On Tuesday, December 12, at 4:00 pm Student Council members convened in the cafeteria for their annual Christmas party. Members brought ten canned goods to serve as their ticket into the event. Upon arrival, students were instructed to sign-in and split off into groups with their graduating class.
Each group was given a cookie cake, three different frostings, two knives, and sprinkles. With these items, they were given the task to decorate the cookie cakes as best as possible within 15 minutes. Once time was up, cakes were brought to the front of the cafeteria.
“It was really fun working with my peers. We were able to bond while completing a common goal,” said Student Council junior Zipporiah Peoples.
Administration was called to judge each cake. As students waited for the results, they split up onto each side of the cafeteria to participate in a service project. Freshmen and sophomores went to the left to work on snow flakes that would be used to decorate the teacher’s lounge. Juniors and seniors went to the right to write Christmas cards for teachers and staff.
When the projects were finished, the winners were announced. The winner for the best design went to the freshman class. The winner of the runner up category was the sophomore class. For the rest of the party, members and staff alike ate their cookie cake, laughed, and played with much enjoyment.
