In the Swamp, Games Club is a popular sports club that hosts monthly tournaments. However, this year the number of participating students has greatly decreased.

The club does sports like kickball, wiffle ball, volleyball, dodgeball, and more. Members pick a sport for the month and then split up into teams that will play each other in brackets until there is a winner.

The sponsors of the club last year were JP Hickman, Morgan Ersoff, and Victoria Rolland. When Hickman and Ersoff left Shreve, Rolland became the only club sponsor.

Last year, there were about 150 students who signed up and participated. Hickman was a favorite of many seniors and that encouraged them to join the club.

After his departure however, the club was left with only eight participants.

“I was very disappointed in the outcome this year considering it was so popular last year. With Mr. Hickman being the sponsor he brought in a lot of seniors,” Rolland said. “If there are not at least 50 members signing up next year I will be unable to continue the club!”

More members are needed to keep the club going, and without them Games Club will not be able to run next year.

Rolland has also considered handing over the club next year due to the lack of participants this year.

On Wednesday, April 22, Rolland held a breakfast for the club members who paid their fees this year which consisted of three.
