NAHS sponsor Aubrey Garcia presents a speech during induction. 23 new students were inducted into the club.

Shreve’s National Art Honor Society hosted their annual induction ceremony on March 6, 2024.

National Art Honor Society, commonly referred to as NAHS, is an organization that “aids members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.”

Captain Shreve’s NAHS serves the community by participating in events such as Christmas in Roseland and the Gators for Good Carnival.

“The goal of NAHS is to recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in art, to foster excellence and dedicated spirits of the pursuit of art, and to further the creative abilities of our members,” sponsor Aubrey Garcia states.

In order to be eligible for consideration, students must be in 10th grade or above and have completed one year of high school art with a grade of a B or higher.

The program began at 6:00 pm in the auditorium with speeches from member Kiara Ealy, president Madison Bolinger, and Garcia.

The leaders then presented certificates to the inductees. In total 23 new members were inducted to join. NAHS now has over 50 participants in the club which is sure to continue to grow.

Bollinger, who will graduate this year, concluded, “I have hope for next year. There will be new officers who will bring something big to the table!”
