Junior class president Maddison Reynolds gives the opening speech during the second ceremony

This past week in The Swamp, we celebrated the junior class as they received their class rings. Due to the amount of students in the junior class, there were two separate ceremonies. The first one of was held on May 7 for the students whose last names begin with the letter A-K , while the second ceremony was on May 8 for students whose last names begin with L-Z.

During the ceremonies our head Gator, Principal Robert Silvie, gave his last ring ceremony speech due to his impending retirement. Many other speeches were given by the Junior class officers Maddison Reynolds (Class President) , Reese Wren (Boys’ Vice President), Meagan Hill ( Secretary), Brett Pernell ( Treasurer), and Faith Anderson ( Girls’ Vice President ).

All the participants of both ceremonies were very thrilled and excited in the new chapter of their lives.

“This feels very unreal for the fact that were really the new seniors,” stated Coren Hill. “We’re really the ones that all the underclassmen look at now. We are the examples!”

The members of the Class of 2025 are the new 2ENIOR5 in the Swamp… a surreal moment for everyone.
