Since 1967, Captain Shreve’s award-winning newspaper, The Enterprise, has served as a forum in which student journalists inform and promote discussion within the school community.
The Enterprise is named for Henry Miller Shreve’s first steamboat, which was used to deliver critical munitions to General Andrew Jackson’s troops in New Orleans during the War of 1812.
The Enterprise has been recognized for journalistic excellence at the local and national levels, most recently being named the best high school newspaper in the state in 2014 by the Louisiana Scholastic Press Association.
