Shreve took home a win on Friday, September 29th against Parkway. The final score was 28-15.
The homecoming court was honored at halftime. They walked across the 50-yard line dressed in suits and hats. A total of 30 girls walked with their family members by their sides.
“The homecoming experience as a whole was great. I kind of enjoyed being the face of the school and having my family and friends cheer me on,” Junior maid Zipporiah Peoples said.
After every maid had walked, the queen was crowned by the children of teacher Natalie Gentry and Principal Robert Sylvie.

The student section showed their spirit as they filled up the stands. The theme for Friday’s game was “Outshine the Panthers.” Students were asked to wear neon to support their team. Junior football player Devin Harper described the game as having “a great atmosphere.” He loved having so many fans there to cheer him on.
Homecoming is an opportunity for alumni to celebrate their years in high school. During the game, the Class of 2003 was in attendance celebrating their 20th reunion.
Shreve scored the winning touchdown in the 4th quarter. The game ended with a victory and the band playing our alma mater.
