The Lady Gator volleyball team talk through improvements they need to win the match.

The Lady Gator volleyball team competed in their second tournament of the season on  Saturday, September 16. They defeated Parkway, Many, and North Caddo and lost their only match of the day to Haughton.

The tournament went well, they did an excellent job, they had amazing harmony. The fans could see their enthusiasm from all the high fives and saying encouraging words anytime something did not go the right way for the team.

Team member Laney Morgan stated, “The team’s chemistry was on fire during the match against Haughton. We didn’t come out on top, and it wasn’t the best we’ve ever played but we didn’t let them get away with an easy win.”

One of the biggest improvements this year has been in their teamwork. Many of the girls say this is because of the new head coach this year Lindsey Bruce.

“Our new coach pushes us to be better and work harder,” junior Megan Hill shared when asked how Bruce has impacted the team.

With three wins they become 11-7 and 2-1 in their district.
